The activity aimed to build employee communication and interaction
Kiran Gems Mumbai, a leading Indian diamantaire recently organised a two-day inter-office cricket tournament under its ‘employee recreations and development’ program. The tournaments were help on 21 and 22 December, with 12 teams featuring employees from various levels of work at the company - from “office assistant” to “management” grades, classified into 4 groups. In the 21 matches played, the final match was played between the teams of Mr. Dinesh Lakhani and Mr. Varun Lakhani. Upon winning the match, Mr. Varun Lakhani, chief of Kiran Jewels (India) said, “The most important part is that the players do not actually meet each other every day. They have come together for this tournament and have displayed excellent skills of coordination, planning, strategizing, belief and trust on team mates and implementation to attain the set results.”
The tournament was a platform beyond just entertainment as it helped bridge communication and interaction between employees across the various functions of the organization and in turn build team spirit and lend to growth of the organization.
At the end of the tournament the winning and runner up teams were honoured with trophies. Mr. Dinesh Lakhani said that “This is more than winning or loosing. It is about spending time together, knowing each other better and perform together to attain a set common objective.
